What is 4-H?

4-H is a club for Boys and Girls ages 8 to 18. The goal of 4-H is to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach.

Older members learn leadership through assisting younger members in projects and activities.  Every club is concentrated on different projects that teach lifeskills. In some clubs members learn about animal projects, in others  photography or crafts.  Our club members enjoy learning about things related to nature and the outdoor environment.

Some of our activities include nature photography, nature crafts and archery.  Sometimes we may take field trips to places like the National Aquarium or to a State Park for fossil collecting.  Our club cares for a garden at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, helps out at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) Open House and makes cards for military members as community service activities.

Members of our club participate in Anne Arundel County and Maryland State Fair. They also participate in Public Speaking and Demonstration Day and Turkey Shoot (archery & shooting sports).  Some members participate in a one week resident County 4-H Camp held in Western Maryland.
Trail Blazers 4-H Club holds most of its business meeting at our "Friend of 4-H" Big Vanilla Athletic Club, 26 Magothy Beach Road, Pasadena, Maryland.

Our Club Members hold offices and lead the business meeting!
